Good evening. This evening we will continue to take a look at Leviticus, and today, we are looking at chapters 11, 12, 13. Before we get started though, allow me to open our time with a word of prayer. Let’s Pray!
As we read the Bible, what does it mean by clean and unclean?
Well, in the chapters that we will look at this evening, we are reading about things that are clean and things that are considered unclean. To start, in chapter 11, we are reading about clean and unclean foods. So, whoever has the first 2 keys, go ahead and read those for us please. (READ 11:1-23, 11:24-47)
Although it is not clear today why certain animals were considered as fit for human consumption, while others were not, what reason might there have been back then for such an action by God?
Later in Acts 10:9-23, the regulations for clean and unclean food is lifted. Why do you think this is?
At this time, allow me to read for you what the commentary has to say about chapter 11 as a whole. It says, (READ COMMENTARY)

Why did it mention it taking twice as long to be clean after a girl as it did after a boy?
What does this regulations tell you about the values of their culture?

Well, if that is all, we will go ahead and take a look at chapter 13. What disease do you hear about most?
Well, in this chapter, we are reading about infection diseases, and then in the last section, we are reading about mildew. So, whoever has the next 2 keys, you can go ahead and read those at this time. (READ 13:1-23, 13:24-46)
Given the situation that the Israelites are in, why would it be smart to be concerned about infections diseases?
Why must diseased people be isolated for 7 days?
Why is it that when a person is considered unclean, that they must live alone and outside of the camp?
Do you think that illness is a sign of something being wrong spiritually?

Well, if that is all, we move on to the last section of chapter 13, which deals with mildew. So, whoever has the last key, go ahead and read that for us please. (READ 13:47-59)
